East Bay DSA No Work Picnic September 24

It's the last Sunday of the month — that means picnic time!

We have been busy socialists, so it's time to relax and hang out. Bring your lunch, picnic blanket, friends, and family for a casual picnic with your comrades. No work done here — just socializing! We will try to stake a spot out in the Broadway and MacArthur Blvd. quadrant of the block.

  • Electoral Endorsements Information Meeting

    Monday, October 02, 2017 at 06:30 PM
    Humanist Hall

Earlier this summer, members of our local were approached by members of the Richmond Progressive Alliance, asking for East Bay DSA's early endorsement of two of their members: Jovanka Beckles, running for State Assembly (AD15), and Gayle McLaughlin, running for California Lt. Governor.

Our bylaws mandate that electoral endorsements should be made by the general membership, so this meeting is for members to thoroughly inform themselves first, then debate and vote on this important issue at a separate meeting.

This informational meeting is for members to hear from the two candidates about their backgrounds and platforms and answer questions from the membership. Members will also be provided with the candidates' answers to East Bay DSA's candidate questionnaire. After the candidates have left the venue, members will have the opportunity to debate the merits of these particular candidacies, as well as have a broader discussion on how we think East Bay DSA should engage with electoral politics.
