Renters Action at Richmond City Council

Two East Bay DSA members and many other seniors are facing a massive rent hike! Come out to support them!

Heritage Park is a low- to moderate-income senior apartment complex in Hilltop, and they are facing a 12 percent rent hike this year on top of the 7 percent increase last year. Since the building was built after 1995, it isn't covered by rent control thanks to Costa-Hawkins.

ACCE, the organization we've been partnering with for housing work, is organizing a press conference and action at the next Richmond City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 15. The press conference will be before the meeting which starts at 6 p.m.

Let's show up in force, support our comrades and all those who are threatened by their landlords, and let them know that housing is a human right, a public good, and not a commodity!
