🌹 Putting Hamas In Context w Professor Bisharat

Political Education Committee

May 28, 2024

Join East Bay DSA's Political Education Committee in person and on Zoom (Zoom link sent after RSVP) for a discussion on primary texts related to October 7th and Hamas, for a discussion on the history of Palestinian resistance of the zionist occupation and what got us here today.

For better or for worse, October 7 is seared into our consciousness as a singular moment in the history of Palestine/Israel. But what actually happened that day? Who planned it, and what were their aims? In what ways did that day represent a rupture with previous trends, and in what ways did it represent continuity with the past? Where is Israel’s continuing onslaught against Gaza, characterized by the International Court of Justice as a “plausible genocide” likely to lead? If you would like answers to these questions, you will not want to miss this presentation by Professor George Bisharat and following discussion.
