School Board Meeting Protest for Safe Schools
October 6, 2021
Since the school year began, more than 76 Oakland schools and child development centers have had at least one COVID case. There are only 10 testing sites for more than 80 schools, HVAC and ventilation problems, and a teacher shortage leading to consolidations of classes. Meanwhile, OUSD received $300 million of federal funding specifically to be spent on COVID precautions.
Join parents, teachers, and staff at the October 6 school board meeting to demand stronger COVID safety measures for schools! Wear red for ed and bring a sign if you can!
