Socialist Night School: Race and Class

August 7, 2018

Note: The date of this class has changed. It will now take place on August 7.

The East Bay DSA Night School is hosting a two part mini-series on the socialist struggle against racial oppression. The first class will examine how race and racism first emerged in the historical context of US slavery. We'll also discuss how socialists have fought against racism through the intervening years including the Civil Rights Movement up to the present. Building on the concepts of the first class, the second night will focus on the expansion of the US police state and how democratic socialists can start to dismantle it. If these topics interest you please join us for one, or better yet, both classes.
