 d Unified School District\, more than 70% of students rely on free or redu
 ced-price school lunches. Making sure children are fed during the strike i
 s therefore crucial to maintaining community support for teachers. At the 
 union’s request\, East Bay DSA is organizing Bread for Ed\, raising mone
 y and coordinating the purchase\, preparation\, and delivery of meals to f
 eed kids and teachers during the strike.</p><p>The exact date of the strik
 e is likely to begin this week. The district is offering 0% raises among o
 ther serious issues.</p><p>At this meeting\, we'll be finalizing plans for
  Bread for Ed and phonebanking volunteers to assign duties such as meal pr
 ep\, delivery\, picket line attendance\, as well as asking for donations. 
 If the strike is starting\, we'll be doing food prep! New members are enco
 uraged to attend.</p>
