Socialist Fundamentals: A Rank and File Strategy Panel, Discussion, and Social!

Political Education Committee

October 18, 2024

“Except on those rare occasions when the class struggle breaks into open political warfare, it is at the workplace that the tug of war between labor and capital is sharpest and most recurring. It is at the workplace that the conservative ideas and assumptions that blunt class consciousness are most consistently confronted."

- Kim Moody

In the 2000 pamphlet “The Rank and File Strategy” Kim Moody proposed an orientation for socialists in the US to take towards workplace organizing. This highly influential piece continues to resonate with socialists, communists, and unionists across the US.

Join us for part 9 of our ongoing Socialist Fundamentals series to hear from people who have chosen to commit to this strategy in their day-to-day lives - by becoming teachers, workers at Amazon, and taking jobs at other workplaces where organized workers have the potential to disrupt the everyday rhythm of capitalist life and win victories for the working class.

Following our worker panel, there will be an opportunity for discussion and socializing at Tamarack, just across the street!

This event will take place at the East Bay DSA office on Friday, October 18, at 6:30pm; this will be in person only. There will be food!
