ready has 38 electoral wins nationally this election season! Last month\,
democratic socialists won Democratic nominees for Congress across the coun
try\, from New York to Colorado. This month\, East Bay DSA is going all in
for one of our own: Nate Adams for Oakland City Council\, District 2.</di
 v><div><br></div><p>Nate isn't a career politician or a real estate-backed
candidate. He's a community organizer and a former co-chair of East Bay D
SA\, rooted in the working families that built this city. Raised by a sing
le mom who moved from rental to rental\, he's organized tenants against an
abusive landlord\, helped win Alameda County's historic divestment from g
enocide\, and spent years building people power from the ground up.</p><p>
Now he's running to put that power in City Hall\, and his platform is exac
tly what Oakland's working class needs:</p><ul><li><p><strong>Slash the re
nt</strong> with real affordable housing and proactive tenant protections<
/p></li><li><p><strong>Fix the streets</strong> and deliver the basic serv
 ices we've been denied</p></li><li><p><strong>Fill 1\,000 city jobs</stron
g> so Oakland works for the people who live here</p></li><li><p><strong>Ki
ck ICE surveillance out</strong>: No Flock cameras spying on our neighbors
 </p></li><li><p><strong>Accountability to the people</strong>\, not tech l
 obbyists\, crypto billionaires\, or big developers</p></li></ul><p>And Nat
e’s campaign represents just one piece of the electoral puzzle here in t
he East Bay. In fact\, East Bay DSA’s newly minted Electoral Strategy wo
rking group has been hard at work this summer\, building a plan to fight f
or the needs of all people in the East Bay. Because the fact is that our c
urrent elected officials are too scared to fight for us. But we aren’t.
</p><p><strong>That's why East Bay DSA is throwing our weight behind Nate\
, and our goal to build an effective electoral machine locally.</strong> C
ome to this month's Community Meeting to talk about what YOU want your ele
cteds to fight for\, meet Nate\, and find out how you can help get the wor
d out about this campaign! We'll have ways for everyone to plug in\, wheth
er that's talking to voters\, reaching out to neighbors\, or bringing a fr
iend into the fight.</p><p><em>Food provided! Bring your friends\, your co
 -workers\, and your neighbors.</em></p><br><p><strong></strong></p><p><img
