On May Day 2026\, East Bay DSA played a powerful role in an action to disrupt the Oakland Airport in support of the Oakland People's A rms Embargo campaign\, as well as centering our demands to tax the rich\, end US wars\, and abolish ICE. Hundreds of our members did not work\, and we also marched and rallied at additional actions across the Bay Area.
At our 2026 chapter convention in June\, we decided to spend the next year preparing to make our intervention in May Day 2027 even bigger and mo re meaningful\, establishing the May Day Working Group. We'll reflect on p ast successful labor actions in the East Bay\, discuss what a powerful May Day 2027 and 2028 could look like\, and talk about upcoming coalition act ions and how we relate to them as socialists.
