Mobilize to Demand That the Alameda County Board Divest From Apartheid
Divest From Apartheid Committee
November 12, 2024
At the next Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Carson will introduce and ask the Board to vote on a letter directing Treasurer Henry Levy to divest the county from companies involved in Israeli apartheid and genocide. We need as many people as possible from across Alameda County to show up in person (preferable) and on Zoom to show our representatives that we expect our county to divest from companies such as Caterpillar, which provides Israel with armored bulldozers equipped with weapons that murder Palestinians, destroy infrastructure in the occupied territories, and bulldoze Palestinian homes in Gaza and the West Bank. This is a pivotal moment to take action for divestment!
It's most important to show up at the beginning of the meeting, at 9:30 AM, so that the supervisors see how much support there is for divestment. Voting will likely be in the afternoon (anytime between 11 am and 2 pm). The exact timing and details of key moments are likely to change throughout the day, so please RSVP below and click the link on the confirmation page to join the coordination chat (you may have to download Signal if you don't have it already) so you don't miss any crucial updates.

In the meantime, we're asking that all county residents contact Treasurer Levy and that residents of districts 2 (Marquez), 3 (Tam), and 5 (Carson) contact their supervisor urging them to support divestment using our Action Network (AN) campaigns ahead of Tuesday's meeting.
You can use this tool to send an email to the supervisor for your District and to Treasurer Levy https://www.eastbaydsa.org/acdivest/
