Social Housing Committee: Tabling at Hayward City Council Homelessness and Housing Task Force Public Meeting

May 9, 2019

The Hayward City Council formed a Homelessness and Housing Task Force to explore rent stabilization measures among other issues. At their public meetings so far, landlords have been outnumbering tenants and those interested in housing justice, trying to use their capital to influence and intimidate. We aim to change that. We’ll meet at City Hall to table before the meeting and prepare remarks, to make sure that tenants know we are with them and there is a better way through democratic socialism, and for politicians and landlords to know we will keep showing up, speaking truth to power, and holding them accountable. The meeting starts at 6pm, so we want to greet people as they arrive. Stay as long as you can — we’ll get drinks nearby after.

Accessibility: Fully ADA compliant. Directly across from Hayward BART and multiple AC Transit stops. Street and garage parking available, as well as bike racks.

When: May 9, 2019, 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Where: Hayward City Hall, Conference Room 2A 777 B St, Hayward, CA, 94541
