Hayward 4 All: Fight for Rent Control at Hayward City Council

June 18, 2019

The Hayward City Council is considering their Rent Stabilization Ordinance at their upcoming city council meeting. At their public meetings so far, landlords have been outnumbering tenants and those interested in housing justice, trying to use their capital to influence and intimidate. We aim to change that in coalition with The Hayward Collective and other tenants organization in Hayward.

We’ll meet at City Hall to table before the meeting and prepare remarks, to make sure that tenants know we are with them and there is a better way through democratic socialism, and for politicians and landlords to know we will keep showing up, speaking truth to power, and holding them accountable. The meeting starts at 7 pm. Stay as long as you can — we’ll get drinks nearby after.

Accesibility: Hayward City Hall is fully ADA compliant. Directly across from Hayward BART and multiple AC Transit stops. Street and garage parking available, as well as bike racks.

When: June 18, 2019, 6:30pm - 9:00pm
